Honouring the memory of Sunshine Coast mum Cindy Mackenzie and supporting local families living with breast cancer... that's what this Sunshine Coast Foundation is all about.
The Cindy Mackenzie Breast Cancer Foundation, Inc. focuses on making a difference to local families living with breast cancer. Our aim is to provide relief in many ways whether it is practical, financial or emotional support.
The Foundation is managed by a small dedicated voluntary Management Committee who are committed to maintaining Cindy’s memory and to its guiding vision “helping families, making a difference”. They have a wide range of professional skills and a strong sense of commitment to the Sunshine Coast community.
The Foundation’s role is to raise funds and receive donations and bequests from corporate entities, local businesses and individuals in the community investing the funds to generate income. The income that is generated assists the Foundation in providing financial relief and practical support to assist Sunshine Coast breast cancer sufferers and their families as they undergo treatment for breast cancer.
A not-for-profit organisation, this local community initiative helps at the very grassroots of the Sunshine Coast community.
| Thank you Sunshine Coast Community, this is how you’ve helped... |

On Saturday March 20, 2010 over 40 staff and students from Sunshine Coast Grammar School gave up their Saturday afternoon for yet another Grammar Helping Hands (GHH) backyard blitz, this time at the home of local couple Sandra and Phil Bailey of Nambour.
The Foundation has been supporting Sandra who is currently undergoing chemotherapy for breast cancer. Husband Phil has been off work due to illness for some time, putting extra pressure on the couple, who have six children under the age of 19.
Inspired by programs such as "Random Acts of Kindness," Grammar Helping Hands is about servant leadership; giving time, not just money, and looking for opportunities to reach out to others who need a helping hand. Truly community helping community. Thank you Grammar Helping Hands for making the Bailey family smile.
We are deeply grateful to the Buderim Foundation for again selecting cmbcf to be one of the beneficiaries for the 2010 Back to School Programme. In the past three years, the Buderim Foundation has given cmbcf over twenty-five $50 vouchers. These vouchers have been distributed to breast cancer patients with children helping relieve some of the financial stress with back to school expenses. This ongoing program is an initiative of the FRRR and Sidney Myer Fund, and is supported by The Sidney Myer Fund, VISY, The Jack Brockhoff Foundation, The Ledger Charitable Trust, The Edward Wilson Trust, The Wyatt Benevolent Institution, The Lord Mayor's Charitable Foundation and Target.
Fashion@ got off to a fantastic start in March 2010 with the first event raising over $970 from raffle proceeds. The Lily Room's new season of gowns modelled by Faye Rolph models - perfect for the Foundation's upcoming Black Tie Gala "A Night in Monte Carlo" - were a highlight of the evening. Thank you to Fashion@, Faye Rolph Models and the many raffle sponsors including Coastline BMW and Opals Downunder who will support the Cindy Mackenzie Breast Cancer Foundation charity raffle throughout 2010.
X-Ray and Imaging have donated another $15,000 to cmbcf making their total fundraising for the last 12 months an awesome $30,000.
In two years, the Foundation’s cmbcf XI membership has grown to 114 cricketing members. The boys have raised almost $40,000 through cricket fixtures, tours and raffles since commencing in October 2007. An outstanding amount helping the Foundation to realise its initial goal of providing practical and financial support twelve (12) months ahead of schedule.
Your wonderful support and generosity is assisting the Foundation’s efforts in making a difference to families on the Sunshine Coast living with Breast Cancer. Thank you!
