John O'Leary
(President & Management Committee)

John is the driving force behind the establishment of the Foundation. He retired recently from Qantas Airlines where he worked for 22 years, 18 years as a Flight Attendant and the past four years as an onboard Customer Service Manager.

During his career at Qantas John travelled throughout Australia and internationally. His passion was service and during his flying years he met and looked after people from all walks of life, including celebrities, politicians, diplomats, TV stars, sports legends, musicians and you and me.

John is very service oriented, a people person in the finest sense of the phrase. He is also a true local boy, raised and educated on the Coast. During his time with Qantas, he lived in Sydney and Brisbane before returning to the Coast with his late wife Cindy in 1996. He now lives here with his two beautiful daughters, Gemma & Hannah.

John has served on the committee of the Townsend Road Kindergarten and Preschool in Buderim. He loves to travel, is a keen golfer and enjoys many outdoor activities including camping and horse riding at weekends with his girls.

He is a great supporter of the local community. John believes there is a real need to support breast cancer sufferers and their families on the Sunshine Coast as did Cindy, who gave so willingly to others throughout her life.

John's vision for the Foundation is that it should be a very 'grassroots' organisation, serving the Sunshine Coast community. Funds raised on the Coast will stay on the Coast to help families and to make a difference.
